River Ecology

River Ecology studies both abiotic environmental factors and species interactions that influence river ecosystems. The goal of our lab is to investigate large rivers ecosystems at spatial and temporal scales to better understand how river ecosystems function (i.e., sediment transport, energy flow, and nutrient recycling) and the ecological services they provide to our civilization (i.e., freshwater, food, transportation, areas for recreation, etc.).
